August 9, 2011--Happy Birthday, Baby!

Kenly turned three on August 9th.  I can hardly believe how quickly the time has gone.  Since her party wasn't until the 13th, we decided to give her a special family day on the 9th.

When she woke up, we made big breakfast together.  The birthday girl asked for chocolate chip pancakes and bacon, so that's what we made.  She was eager to help, so we got started.

I think the smell of chocolate was exciting her here.
Adam and Kenly did a bit of dancing to one of their favorite Pandora stations.  (Please ignore the huge pile of laundry in the background.)
In celebratory fashion, we ate breakfast on the porch.
Kenly received several birthday calls while we were getting ready for our adventure.  I think she likes being the center of attention.
We took her to Chuck E. Cheese for her birthday adventure.  She had the run of the place since it was a weekday, and she made good use of her time and tokens.  She loved all the rides, and she played the water gun game at least 10 times.  She also enjoyed the "bubble game" as well.  We danced on stage and had a blast.

After dinner that night, she had a bit of a Twix Ice Cream bar so that she could blow out a candle on her actual birthday.
I love this picture of Adam and Kenly.
She was able to open one present from us that night.

She got an Elmo Wii game.  Kenly seems to like it, but Adam and I are less than impressed.  I think I'll do a bit more research before I buy another kids game.  The day was a huge success.  She was counting the days until her "Flower Party."
