Success

Despite a child with separation anxiety and snowy weather, Adam and I successfully had a date on Tuesday evening. We left Kenly with a girl named Sarah who is a senior at West. She came highly recommended, and I know why. Kenly normally freaks out if I leave the room, but she had a blast with Sarah. Sarah said she only cried for 15 minutes right before bed. She does that for me. The only bummer thing is that Sarah leaves for college in the fall, so the drama could start all over again come August.

Adam and I took two separate cars in case Kenly didn't do so well. He really wanted to go to the concert, and Tuesday is his night off, so I drove just in case. On the way home we couldn't go more than 40MPH due to snow and high winds. Things looked better near out home, but our neighborhood was really slick. I started sliding back down the mountain, so we had to leave my car on the side of the road over night. Thanks to 4 wheel drive and some careful driving, Sarah made it home safe. We kept her up late on a school night, but she didn't have school the next day due to the snow.

Our date consisted of wings, salad, and garlic knots at place called 2 Guys. Then we went to the Orange Peel to see a guy named Brett Dennen. He put on a great show. It was so nice to be out with Adam. We need that one-on-one time now more than ever.

#1. What a cutie-pants you have!!

#2. Congrats on getting a date night! They are much needed...at least over here in our house they are!

#3. Don't feel too bad about the poison control incident...things happen (unfortunately!) Doesn't it really make you feel bad though? My daughter ate some Vicks Vapor Rub at 12 months old. UGH!

#4. I came across your blog from The Mother Letters Project blog. I know this is silly...but my daughter is in the Leelou Blogs cute baby photo contest and I am trying to spread the word for people to vote for her!! I need HUNDREDS of votes for her to even come close to catching up to the front-runners. I have been trying to figure out where to find hundreds of people, and I didn't think it was approriate to ask Seth to post something so silly on The Mother Letters Blog (obviously), but I figured maybe all the people who helped with the project would be willing to go give my little Makenzie from AZ a vote : ) If not, that's ok too. I am just trying to get creative and reach more people! If you'd like to help me by voting for Makenzie, please go to http://www.leeloublogs.blogspot.com/ and spread the word for others to vote as well : )

EVEN MORE IMPORTANTLY THOUGH...I am also recruiting prayer warriors for a tiny little miracle baby named Kayleigh Freeman, maybe you've heard of her and are already praying for her. It was through her blog that I heard about the contest in the first place. Even if you don't take the time to vote for Makenzie, please take a minute to visit HER website: http://www.kayleighannefreeman.blogspot.com/ and say a prayer for this sweet girl!

THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME!!!

Sincerely,
Daniele Brown

PS- THE MOTHER LETTERS PROJECT is in NO WAY associated with this request other than the fact that I found your blog there!!
